Senior Application Support Analyst (Calypso) Description

We are seeking an Application Support Engineer specializing in Calypso / Murex using Java programming to join our team. The successful candidate will work with our client based in Singapore.

The role is to support the Calypso / Murex back-office package, both in project mode and maintenance, as well as supporting the "run the bank" functions for our client. He/she will require a deep understanding of the nature of business operations, timing of activities & data flowing through internal and external systems.

Responsibilities

  • Implement effective application monitoring to detect incidents promptly and minimize downtime
  • Supervise and monitor daily and monthly batch chains to ensure timely problem resolution
  • Provide regular data quality reports
  • Streamline processes to reduce manual intervention
  • Provide level 2 application support to back-office users
  • Analyse, manage, and coordinate incidents and requests, especially those impacting multiple teams
  • Identify and eliminate recurring problems
  • Provide requirements for a dedicated bug-fixing and improvement team
  • Collaborate with build and operations teams to maintain a comprehensive knowledge base
  • Implement training programs to reduce business-to-IT requests
  • Conduct thorough release testing
  • Analyse application performance
  • Ensure successful production deployment and validation
  • Participate in a rotating weekend release schedule

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Proven experience in Java, PL/SQL, and Linux
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Calypso / Murex, specializing in Back-office functionality and customization of various modules
  • Strong understanding of financial assets (FX, money market, cash) and the trade lifecycle
  • Experience with regulatory reporting, such as MMSR
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations for night and weekend support
