Responsibilities
- Develop and design a range of tools, integrations, and components to enhance computer vision and machine learning (CVML) pipelines
- Create a versatile data access library that facilitates seamless streaming of data from a central location (S3) to both Databricks and on-premises clusters
- Enhance the existing training support library by decoupling its capabilities from the underlying ML framework
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including data science teams, and actively participate in design discussions with relevant MESA team members
- Foster effective communication and coordination with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, assess new features, and drive informed technical decisions
- Implement tasks end-to-end, ensuring the delivery of high-quality code through active participation in code reviews and thorough testing
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation and contribute to fostering a high-performance engineering culture
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of ML Engineering experience, with a total of 5+ years of experience in the IT field, potentially in other roles
- Strong proficiency in Python and its ecosystem, particularly PyTorch
- Experience with Pyspark and AWS
- Knowledge of Python fundamentals and its commonly used libraries
- Familiarity with AWS infrastructure, K8S, observability tools, and CI/CD tools
- Understanding of CVML technologies such as Kubeflow, Databricks (Spark), and various tools for model and dataset management
- Experience with data platforms like Databricks and AWS for effective data management and integration
- Proficiency in integrating Python with MongoDB
- Demonstrated self-sufficiency, proactivity, and ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders in a global context
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with the flexibility to overlap at least 4 hours with the West Coast time zone a minimum of 2 times a week
Nice to have
- Experience with bare-metal training, parallel and multi-node parallel training, and SageMaker
- Knowledge of reactive programming with ReactiveX
- Familiarity with Python, Scala, and Go programming languages
- Experience with reporting tools such as JasperReports, DynamicReports, or QlikView
