We are looking for a motivated Regional Accounting Manager to manage the financial operations of EPAM Vietnam with added responsibility for supporting other ASEAN countries, such as Singapore and Malaysia. This role will be responsible for the day-to-day EPAM Vietnam financial operations that forms a key part of the fast-growing EPAM APAC revenue.

This position will be based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and reports directly to the Regional Controller in Hong Kong with additional reporting responsibilities to the General Director of EPAM Vietnam.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that all required financial processes for the EPAM Vietnam entity are in compliance with current Vietnam regulations
  • Provide management oversight to the local accounting service provider. Liaise with Corporate accounting team to drive to closure on any accounting issues and to ensure consistent practice in Vietnam compared to the Corporate practices
  • Coordinate with the local accounting service provider and global shared service center to ensure timely and accurate reporting and submissions including (but not limited to) Corporate Income Tax returns, government statistics submissions, loan reporting, and quarterly VAT filing/refunds. Meet tight deadlines
  • Manage the successful completion of the annual audit. Follow up with auditor on any internal control concern or issue, if there is any. Ensure that all documentation is provided to the auditor timely and accurately
  • Prepare and manage the quarterly cash flow forecast for the Company. Highlight to Management on the cash flow requirement then follow through by either raising an inter-company loan or through capital infusion
  • Manage the banking relationship with local banks and Citibank. Provide support in meeting local bank loan statutory filing requirements
  • Liaise with Corporate revenue team on intra/inter-company, contracting, billing and invoicing requirements. Ensure the documentation is in full compliance with local government requirements
  • Work within the guideline of Corporate Tax, provide analysis in the determination of the transfer pricing with other EPAM relating entities. Liaise with Corporate Tax in any bi-annual update, maintain the full set of transfer pricing documentation
  • Provide local taxation support and guidance; including liaising with local tax authorities when required
  • Support company registration requirements, including ad-hoc updates to IRC/ERC
  • Administrate local company expenses and petty cash
  • Maintain awareness of upcoming local regulatory changes and other impacting regulations
  • Continuous improvement; look for opportunities to improve accounting and finance practices. Advise management team and implement where appropriate
  • Oversight of the required electronic and paper documentation processes and storage in relation to finance and accounting
  • Work with ad-hoc requests, administrative tasks and projects as required including to support other APAC entities

Requirements

  • Technical Skills:
    • University degree in accounting/finance. Experience in finance and accounting area
    • At least 8 years solid experience in finance and accounting area
    • Strong knowledge of local Vietnam GAAP and tax rule, some high-level understanding of US GAAP
    • Strong knowledge of accounting procedures and standards including solid internal controls
    • Proficient user in Microsoft Office applications, and sizable ERP System such as SAP or Oracle
  • Communication Skills:
    • Effectively communicate with and engage all levels of the organization verbally and in writing
    • Good command of spoken and written English is a must; upper intermediate (CEFR B2) or higher level of spoken and written English
  • Management of Resources:
    • Demonstrate ability to be effective within a cross-function reporting environment
    • Self-starter with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and take ownership of projects; performing job requirements with minimal oversight and attention to detail
  • Business Knowledge:
    • At least 5 years working for a multinational company in a similar capacity
  • Change Management:
    • Exhibit an assertive personality with a strong bias for action with a results-orientation; tackle tough problems with firm deadlines

Nice to have

  • Experience in dealing with transfer pricing, intra-company loans and billing, management accounting
  • Experience with tax exemption preparation and audits, especially in a software production firm
  • Trade Union accounting
