We are looking for a highly-motivated Lead Software Quality Engineer in Ho Chi Minh City to develop our Vietnam quality team. We have many upcoming opportunities with global brand-name clients for high-profile projects that require someone with excellent technical delivery skills and management capabilities. This role is highly flexible; your overall goal is to ensure the quality of software delivered by the team, from the start to finish of the project. You will need to apply manual and automated techniques to the whole software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on and execute all levels of testing (System, Integration, Regression) through manual and automated means
  • Self-managing and leading; perform any tasks without supervision. Takes testing responsibility for a subsystem or a whole project. Delegates all levels of test execution, including automation, to team members and manages closely to ensure productivity and accuracy
  • Analyze user stories and requirements for validity and feasibility
  • Lead on the design and development of automation testing scripts
  • Detect and track software defects and inconsistencies and ensure consistency within the team
  • Apply quality engineering principals throughout the Agile product lifecycle
  • Client-facing; participate in phone conferences; be interviewed by customers; be involved in customer workshops and presentations
  • Take a leading role within the office to build, develop and promote the skills of the quality team through training, coaching, recruitment, technical interviewing and public speaking
  • Evaluate, improve and develop test methods and tools
  • Lead the direction and strategies of test tools in the team
  • Manage small to medium projects or sub-projects within the team from start to finish
  • Use judgment and experience to assist the team with decisions and overcome challenges related to daily activities
  • Understand, assess and improve current processes and procedures
  • Follow all applicable development processes and methodologies. These may be part of internal policies, applicable international standards, applicable regulatory requirements and/or specific team processes

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of Software Testing and Test Automation experience, dealing with complex technical issues/tasks
  • Test Automation in at least one of software development language and related platform: Java, .NET, JavaScript, Python, etc
  • Able to establish, follow and enhance test automation process from scratch without supervision
  • Experience of working with Microservices and at least 2 application interfaces i.e. Web UI, Mobile UI, Desktop UI, DB
  • University degree in Software Engineering, Software Quality or equivalent
  • At least 2 years Software Engineering experience (in the fields of Software Testing, Test Automation, DevOps Automation and Software Development)
  • Basic understanding of networking and IT infrastructure
  • Skilled with cross-functional thinking and problem solving
  • Understand System end-to-end, Embedded Software, Mobile Application design, implementation and deployment
  • Understand or exposure to fixed-time delivery process and execution
  • Upper intermediate (CEFR B2) or higher level of spoken and written English

Nice to have

  • Experience working in Financial sector
  • Familiarity with other automation tools such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, Resolve.io
  • Ability to communicate in Russian, Mandarin or Japanese
