DESCRIPTION


We are currently hiring a highly motivated Functional Analyst to join our Data Layer team. We expect a solid knowledge of banking concepts, financial instruments and finance topics in general through your academic background and / or through relevant work experience. Knowledge of complex banking products, the IFRS regulatory framework for financial institutions and its supervisory standards is a clear bonus. A keen interest and solid abilities for data modelling are a must.

As a Data Layer Functional Analyst your main responsibility is to gather data requirements from our applications teams and write specifications for their implementation into our data layer infrastructure starting with our global logical data model. You will be involved in the whole delivery chain, from functional inception of the software until its delivery to our worldwide customer base, including aftercare and implementation support. We deliver financial content through purpose-built software so a strong affinity with or interest in information technology and software development is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Take part in the team Agile / SCRUM development process, actively participate to SCRUM ceremonies
  • Perform detailed analysis of data requirements from applications teams, from regulatory, risk and finance domains, and translate into software specifications, applying data modelling principles and techniques
  • Contribute to functional design of the software solution
  • Contribute to estimating development efforts and impact analysis
  • Work closely with the technical team to ensure a clear understanding of requirements and follow-up on software implementation
  • Creating and maintain functional documentation of the software solution
  • Create and maintain relevant tests cases based on the specifications made and ensure the developed software meets the expected acceptance criteria
  • Create or enhance functional test data and expected results to test new developments
  • Define test scenarios, perform non-regression analysis, analyses test results to validate new functionalities in close collaboration with the other team members to ensure the application is correct from a functional perspective
  • Participate to product third line support, including analysis of customer cases, provide resolution recommendations and contribute to implementation

Requirements

  • A solid academic background in economics, banking / finance / accounting, or strong affinity with those topics through prior relevant work experience
  • Any IT related education, in particular data modelling or database related, is a plus
  • Solid knowledge of banking concepts and financial instruments, and related experience
  • Good understanding of data modelling principles, data representation and data mapping and related experience
  • Good understanding of relational databases and SQL
  • Mastering of MS Office in particular Excel
  • Fluent in English, written and oral

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of more complex banking products, the IFRS regulatory framework for financial institutions and its supervisory standards
  • Knowledge about ledger and sub-ledger systems, account
