Job Purpose
DBS has embarked on Digital transformation journey with the objective to become a truly digital bank. The program focuses on maximizing value by building new applications in open source technologies and/or platforming existing applications to modern tech stacks.

As a Java developer you would be responsible to drive technology delivery across cross asset, cross financial product implementation which are necessary for Sell and Buy side requirements of various institutional clients. He or She would work across other application/platform leads and business users and trading desks to understand business vision and priorities and help deliver cutting edge technology by part of hands on design and delivery of these solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and delivery of product and solution
  • Executing PoC’s and developing MVP’s for new work areas
  • Percolating and safe guarding coding standards and best practices
  • Code reviews for critical pieces of code
  • Guide and mentor the programmers and clear bottlenecks
  • Conduct technology sessions

Requirements

  • Experience in design and delivery of enterprise applications using open source technologies
  • Advise during the development life cycle by serving as a solution SME to help identify and qualify business development opportunities
  • Provide end to end solution and design details
  • Drive experimentation to assess new solution/application paths
  • Hands on skills in design and delivery of applications which are cross platform, cross browser and based on Object oriented design concepts
  • Experience in Springboot and Microservices
  • Experience in AWS – Developing and Deploying services in AWS
  • Deep end-to-end architecture and technology experience in middleware, databases
  • Knowledge and understanding of private (Openshift) and public cloud architecture and systems
  • Hands on experience with NoSQL (MariaDB, etc.)
  • Good understanding of agile methodologies and experience of working in agile teams
  • Hands on skills in CI/CD, DevOps & Test automation
  • Evaluate and communicate technical risk and ensure applications are delivered against a schedule with the highest quality
  • Experience of leading, coaching, mentoring technical teams
  • Excellent team player
  • Minimum experience of 6+ years in product/application Software development

Nice to have

  • Experience in Front end, Specifically Angular 2+
  • Knowledge of Hadoop, SPARK, Hive, Impala, HBase etc
  • Knowledge of Site reliability engineering is an added advantage
  • Experience in BFSI with knowledge of Capital Markets
