We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer (Java-DevOps) specializing in JavaScript in Shenzhen to make the team stronger.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new functionality using Agile approach:
    • Solution design and documenting, proposal
    • Integration with other systems (feeds, REST, JMS, etc.)
    • Development, testing, and Production launch
  • Run client’s demo and education sessions
  • Be a member of a cross-functional team that experiments with new technology and proactively searches for the best solutions and ideas in the marketplace
  • Coordinate your work with other developers to deliver first-class technological solutions in a positive, fun, yet challenging and deadline driven environment
  • Work closely with both internal and external Product and Technology teams, in order to find technological solutions and perspectives in the product development process
  • Provide input on, follow and evangelize code quality guidelines and standards
  • Participate in code reviews to highlight best of breed solutions
  • Identify/troubleshoot application code-related issues, review and provide feedback on any required final user documentation
  • Zealously pursue the status of crucial team member by rising to the challenge of quickly learning the current workflows of build technologies and automation
  • Design, implement, and maintain continuous build and deployment delivery mechanisms, leveraging innovative programmatic solutions and automation
  • Consult technical personnel and management of our client including those at CEO level on the industry-best practices, discuss, persuade and agree on the most innovative approaches applicable in client landscape
  • Proactively identify and drive automation of tasks associated with end-to-end deployment delivery
  • Take initiative in discovering existing and new challenges pertaining to the build and deployment for our customers, seeking to improve, resolve, and streamline tools and processes to meet delivery challenges
  • Function as a team member supporting the organization by driving the end-to-end stability and availability of tools and environments used by our customers to support the build and deployment
  • Develop and maintain documentation and diagrams outlining automated solutions and environmental architecture

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related majors
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Java Developer within production projects
  • Good knowledge of Java Core
  • Good understanding of DevOps Principles, Processes
  • Experience of tool chains for CI/CD pipeline: Jenkins, TeamCity etc
  • Expertise in Test Driven development
  • Highly experienced in designing/implementing solutions using Spring (Core, Boot, Batch, MVC, Integration), Hibernate, REST Web Services, XML, XSD, parsers, XPath
  • Good knowledge of RDBMS: SQL (preferably Oracle)
  • Experienced in using building tools such as Maven, Gradle
  • Hands-on experience in best practices in testing and developing of good/clean code
  • VCS: Git (at least 1 year of experience within production projects)
  • Good automation skills using tools such as Ansible, Bash Scripting, Unix etc
  • Self-management and strong prioritization skills
  • Readiness to ask questions - go straight to the client, collect and analyze needs
  • Ability to create necessary documentation (incl. PRD, Test Cases, Design Docs, etc.) instead of waiting for a perfectly shaped task
  • Thinker with agile mindset, who can cope with changes without undue distress
  • Capability of working in agile environment without direct supervision
  • In depth understanding of different phases of software development lifecycle and understanding of Agile Scrum processes
  • Good interpersonal skills, analytical mind, get things done attitude, and passion for engineering excellence
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate engineering problems in order to find the best possible solution
  • Ability and willingness to adapt to changing requirements and priorities
  • Active learner who is passionate about technology and keeps up to date with technology changes
  • Good English communication skills & experience in client-facing communications (developers communicate with stakeholders directly)
  • Upper intermediate (CEFR B1) or higher level of spoken and written English
