DESCRIPTION


Currently we are looking for a Solution Architect (.NET) for our Hyderabad office to make the team even stronger.

Responsibilities

  • Do solution architecture design and review for small-to-medium size solutions (size is measured using the value to the customer, like number of integrations, number of transactions per sec, number of users, etc. are to be declared) based on familiar technology stack
  • Create solution architecture documentation, work/feature-breakdown structure document and other related artifacts with deep technical details
  • Lead the architecture development in corresponding discipline (Solution Architecture, System Architecture or Quality Architecture)
  • Drive the discussion to particular decisions and action items
  • Consult and supervise all team members, share knowledge
  • Develop work instructions, trainings, white-papers, case studies
  • Drive the requirements discussion
  • Coordinate project activities or a certain project part; lead a team of 6+ members (midsize+ team)
  • Interview candidates to the project team
  • Help to evaluate team newcomers (in technology and architecture related matters) and direct them to fit customer’ requirements
  • In technical aspects, is self-managing, take responsibility and accountability for a subsystem or a whole project of small-to-medium size
  • Able define and mitigate risks associated with specific solution in known contexts
  • Act as a BA, if dedicated specialist is not involved: able to work closely with business to identify solution requirements and key case-studies/scenarios for the future solution and document them too. Translate customer’s requirements to the tech language and communicate them to the development team and to the business
  • Drive and supervise end-to-end development cycle (SDLC)
  • Act as Team Lead or Project Coordinator if dedicated specialist is not involved: able to run/support end-to-end development cycle and interact with customer directly
  • Manage the delivery of architectural POCs
  • Produce coarse-grained estimations on the implementation of architectural assets
  • Process, absorb, retain and reuse business domain knowledge for several of the most popular business domains
  • Quickly learn, systematize, retain and utilize knowledge (including best practices)
  • Pro-actively analyze and measure current processes and practices and suggest/drive improvements to time to market/quality/cost
  • Utilize metrics and KPI to make decisions and track project risks
  • Provide timely input of risks and issues, impacting quality, schedule or resources, and recommend effective mitigation plans when applicable
  • Participate in tech interviews for engineering Level4+ /M1+ specialists
  • May participate in test assessment as 2-nd auditor
  • May participate in presales under supervision

Requirements

  • Technologist by heart
  • Practical experience with 10+ projects in relevant engineering domain
  • Good knowledge of architectural theory out of primary technology domain context bounds
  • 7+ years’ hands-on experience in relevant engineering domain
  • 3+ year’s industry experience in 5+ projects in TL and/or PM roles with constant hands-on work
  • Strong experience with full life cycle of Agile software development processes, approaches and methods (Scrum, XP, etc.)
  • Track of record of working directly with the customer (i.e. regularly facing the customer)
  • Technology and Business domain-specific knowledge as applicable (specified by particular EPAM Solution Practices)
  • Considered as an advantage
  • Good understanding of or experience in full lifecycle of software development processes like RUP or “Waterfall” or MSF
  • Ability to deep-dive in new technology and get familiar with it in short terms (and pass this knowledge to others)
  • Ability to think and design in cross-domain terms
  • Good general design skills, desire and ability to “put pieces together”
  • Ability to conceptually visualize things
  • Technology and Business domain-specific knowledge as applicable (specified by particular EPAM Solution Practices)
  • Expert level of Software Quality Control processes and SDLC. Able to follow, actively influence, enhance and define Software Quality Control processes
  • Ability to improve testing process and techniques on a project and establish them from scratch. Including communication flows, tracking tools
  • Presentation skills: ability to conceptually visualize things and deliver presentation to professional audience
